Bubble Waffles Courtesy of Love from London
Love From London is one of the latest specialty dessert shops to appear in the Bellingham community. I was immediately intrigued, what’s a bubble waffle? Why London? What is happening at this fancy ice cream shop?
I will say I kept hesitating (spoiler: don’t wait) or postponing my visit to this unique spot tucked away across from the Commercial Parking garage… Mostly because I kept looking at how decadent the treat looked — there was no way I could finish one! It’s going to be overly sweet! It’s going to just be to much after eating.
It. Was. Perfect.
I went with a couple and their one-year old, my husband and SHEESH! It was delicious. It wasn’t to much. It wasn’t overly sweet. It was the perfect blend of ice cream to bubble waffle, goodie treats, and as we were walking around town the funniest thing was that other people were stopping us and asking us how it was. We were the best advocates as we cruised to the Comic Place, we told everyone to go.
We picked the Brit Kit which is an original bubble waffle base (vanilla), vanilla ice cream, Oreo, Kit-Kat, Nutella, and whip cream, we did a single scoop and shared it.
Our friends chose to create their own which was hilariously delightful to watch but very easy to get exactly what you want.
Also! As of April 2025 they have vegan ice cream from Lopez Island Creamery. The rest of their ice cream is from Edaleen’s Ice Cream which used to have it’s own dedicated shop in Fairhaven that closed and we still miss greatly.
The Bubble Waffle
This does deserve it’s own special little moment because I had never had a “Bubble” waffle before. I’ll be honest, I’m newer to eating waffle cones — mostly because I am horrifically slow at eating ice cream and it melts and gets soggy. As an adult, I’m much more efficient. It’ll still be a close call by the end of the cone and that same was true for my bubble waffle, but the bubble waffle was so freakin’ fun to eat. Plus the fancy paper-wrap Love from London gives you to walk around with is just a hoot. I felt fancy and cool walking around with my treat. The bubbles were fluffy, soft, easy to manipulate to break apart with the provided spoon and such a great added texture to the ice cream and toppings.
In summary — Time to get some Love From London!
Where it’s located is easy to miss, so seriously plan your walking route to start with a treat from Love From London. It’s not heavy, it won’t spoil your dinner, you have to go give this business some love next time you’re wandering Downtown Bellingham!
