I Dream for Ice Cream! Little Dreamer Ice Cream Shop
When our friend says there is a new ice cream shop, you better believe we’re adventuring ASAP! The same squad that adventured to Love from London was out again for desserts! I don’t want to give away the cutest interior of this dreamy little ice cream shop in the clouds — So, let me say, it is worth the visit for the décor alone!
Located in Barkley Village next to the Regal Cinema at 3011 Cinema Pl # 101, Bellingham, WA 98226, what once was an Açaí bowls shop, has been reimagined into the most delightful ice cream shop: Little Dreamer Ice Cream!
The shop opened at the end of May 2025 so we weren’t sure what to expect — everything was so new! We were greeted by the warm smell of waffle cones, the clouds glowed overhead, and (at first) we were the only customers in the shop. The staff of four gave us a “hello” and we admired the simple and clean menu options. We were offered samples as we debated which flavors to try.
We ordered and before we were handed our ice cream there was a line of about 10+ people of all ages abuzz deciding what flavors they would try! We don’t know if a movie just got out or what, but it was awesome and the staff and customers all chatted to one and another with great joy. We had one boy ask us what we’d recommend as we got our ice cream.
We chose three “Little” Waffle Cones, one got Cookies & Cream, another ordered the Berry Cobbler and we tried the Dream Crunch to keep on with the dream theme.
The waffle cone was flavorful and crisply fresh. The ice cream was smooth and simple. I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure what was in our Dream Crunch flavor, we surmised it was vanilla ice cream, tiny chocolate chips, and some style of granola. It was scrumptious even if we failed to educate ourselves on what precisely was in it. Who needs to know everything anyway? It tasted great.
We sat at their adorable booths, enjoyed our ice cream, entertained our youngest squad member (1-year old), and were enchanted by the entire experience from start to finish.
It’s delightful to see a new local ice cream shop pop up and it’s really fun that they are currently open from noon to 10PM for the late night crowd. Their slogan is “small batch from scratch” and I can’t wait to see what other batches of ice cream they dream up next!
In Summary - Stop daydreaming, get ice-creaming!
We’re so lucky in Whatcom to have a collection of local ice cream shops from Mallard’s in Downtown Bellingham, Edaleen’s in Ferndale, Crooked Spoon in Fairhaven (And Sirena Gelato). I’m excited to return to Little Dreamer Ice Cream Co. and try more flavors and walk the Barkley Village Area this summer!
